Our Approach

During our first year together our approach to making music quickly evolved into a process somewhat different from the norm.

While musical decisions traditionally come from the director, Jubilate members are urged to draw upon their considerable musical experience to help shape the final product. Together, we have several hundred years of musical experiences!

Jubilate uses a technique known as 'choral voicing' to enable each musician to sing out fully in his/her natural voice. This eliminates the need for singers to blend with voices around them. With this voicing technique, singers are never positioned in sections, but can be moved around freely. Very few choral singers ever experience this kind of freedom.
